Students at LVC are encouraged to get involved, voice their opinions and contribute to the leadership of the school. Students in every year group have the opportunity to be a voice for their House by putting themselves forward to become their tutor group's House Representative. Two students from each House will also be selected by their Head of House to become House Captains. Together the House Reps and House Captains meet regularly with their Head of House to discuss events and issues going on in school. For example, they play an integral role in the planning and delivery of calendared house events throughout the year such as Charities Morning and Sports Day. They also act as the voice for their tutor group when there is consultation over wider school issues.
Students who become House Reps and Captains develop useful skills such as communication, empathy, organisation and collaboration. We hope that having this kind of opportunity within the school helps our young people become more rounded and confident individuals, who are better prepared for life beyond LVC.
