The Governing Body has three key roles:
The governing body meets a minimum of once per term. The full governing body is supported by two committees, Resources and Standards. The Resources Committee is responsible for financial control, personal issues and site management, the Standards Committee is tasked with maintaining educational standards, peformance and safeguarding. The committees also meet a minimum of once per term.
As part of the Chilford Hundred Education Trust we look to the trust Board to provide strategic direction and financial oversight. Financial control is delegated to the local governing body by the Trust Board.
Some issues or areas of development may need focused governor involvement and in those cases governors will form a working party that would liaise with a key member of staff. Some governors have a faculty link and liaise with Heads of Faculty in order to improve their understanding and knowledge of the faculty and its priorities in its development. The chairs of the groups and other governors have links with key members of staff and have a regular dialogue with them to monitor and evaluate priorities for development. Governors always join an Area Review focusing on one area of the curriculum in depth each term.
If you are interested in the rewarding role of LVC governor or wish to raise a matter with the Governing Body, please contact the Clerk via letter or email email@example.com.
