Our College Aims

The College’s aims reflect our commitment to offering an ambitious, inclusive and enriching education.

  • Everyone is committed to achieving exceptional standards of learning, achievement and behaviour.
  • Curious learners are engaged by an ambitious and inspiring curriculum.
  • Everyone is supported to feel safe, be successful and to feel a sense of belonging.
  • Caring, respectful relationships and a responsibility for the College environment are valued by all.
  • Everyone benefits from enriching educational opportunities that appreciate individuality and develop well-rounded young people.
  • Independence is fostered through a focus on personal wellbeing and reflection, enabling everyone to thrive in their learning and life.

Our current College improvement strands and leadership priorities focus on achieving consistently high-quality education in these areas.

  1. Ensuring an ambitious curriculum experience in all subjects.
  2. Embedding effective behaviour for learning across the school.
  3. Securing success for students with special educational needs.

An outward-looking school

At Linton Village College we broaden horizons. As an International School Award winner, we bring the world to Linton and take Linton students out to see the world. The range of trips and expeditions we offer is extensive and impressive.

In recent years students have had opportunities to visit Sicily, Iceland, Paris, Barcelona, Croatia, Lanzarote, Austria, Belgium, Cambodia and South Africa. In Year 9, we encourage every child to go on a residential trip for a week in June.

We run language learning visits to France and Spain, ski trips in winter and scuba-diving trips in summer. The College Wind Orchestra and choir perform abroad most years. Many of our students enjoy their involvement with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme which takes them all over the UK on expeditions.
