A night of glamour at LVC
Glitz and glamour were the order of the day as the year 11 students returned to LVC on Friday 2nd July to celebrate the end of their exams at the annual leavers' ball.
Parents, friends and paparazzi joined an excited crowd of onlookers as the students ma
de their way down the college drive on a glorious summer evening in a grand parade of stylish and eccentric vehicles including sports cars, tractors and a red London bus. Others arrived in vintage cars, tandem bikes, camper vans, a fire engine, a pony trap and even a boat. Each entrance was greeted with warm applause and there were gasps of 'ooh' and 'aah' as the students stepped out of their cars in smart suits and glamorous summer dresses to the accompaniment of live music from Linton Jazz.
Once the photos had been taken, everyone moved into the marquee for an evening of entertainment including a magician, caricature artist, casino, chocolate fountain and dancing to a disco until 11pm. 'The students looked fabulous and it was wonderful to see them getting a chance to relax and celebrate their five years at college after all the hard work of exams,' said LVC principal Caroline Derbyshire.
