Linton's got talent!

The ITV talent contest ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ may continue to dominate the Saturday night ratings, but students at LVC held their own version last Friday (7th May) to celebrate the talents closer to home.

‘Linton’s Got Talent’ was planned and run by year 11 students to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust and the LVC leavers’ ball.

The evening saw a glittering array of talent on display, from card tricks to gymnastics, street dance to stand-up comedy, barbershop singing to jazz saxophone and Bollywood dancing to pantomime dames. TV judges Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell were unable to attend, but LVC had its very own panel of judges in Jerry Hyde, Julie McGrath and Amanda Clay.

After much deliberation, the judges announced a shortlist in each of the two categories (years 7 to 9 and years 10 to 11) which was put to an audience vote to decide a final winner.

Emily Coppen, 15, one of the organisers, said: ‘There was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the evening.’
